Wes McCranor Joins as Founding Patron

We are delighted to welcome Wes McCranor as a Founding Patron of Cancer Awareness Trust.

Wes is the founder and director of Sphere Assured: a boutique life insurance brokerage specialising in high-value sum assured policies and complex medical underwriting. Wes founded Sphere Assured following career spanning both the U.S. and U.K. and over two decades.His firm is known for its bespoke medical due diligence process, securing terms often unattainable through conventional channels.

“I feel privileged to be able to support the Cancer Awareness Trust on this journey, and being part of this community while my family navigates its own cancer journey makes it all the more special. There are some incredible humans involved in this project, and being able to stand beside these individuals while building something to help others understand cancer at a more personal level is an honour.”

Wes’s commitment to reshaping the U.K. insurance landscape, particularly around the financial impact of cancer, is deeply personal. After supporting his wife through a stage 2 ovarian cancer diagnosis at the age of 35, he became a passionate advocate for enhanced cancer awareness, screening, and treatment options, aiming to ensure that others facing similar challenges have access to comprehensive financial protection.

Wes is supporting CAT’s fundraising efforts to launch Cancer Platform and sharing his lived experience and professional insight.
