Terry and Barbara Woods join as Founding Patrons
We are delighted to welcome husband and wife, Terry and Barbara Woods as Founding Patrons of Cancer Awareness Trust.
Terry and Barbara Woods BCA are widely respected philanthropists, recognised with the British Citizen Award for their outstanding contribution to the community and many charitable causes.
Terry spent 37 years building and running a successful business before choosing to step away by selling the company to his dedicated and loyal colleagues. They now focus entirely on philanthropy and their family. From the outset, Terry and Barbara believed that business success comes with responsibility, and they have made financial giving a cornerstone of their legacy.
Barbara, admired for her warmth, empathy, and ability to connect with people, ensures their charitable work remains compassionate and people-centred. Both Barbara and Terry play an active role as trustees and founder members for various organisations.
Terry and Barbara Woods comment: “We are honoured to join Sir Chris and his team on this journey to delivering Cancer Platform. We can see just how focused the team is on their mission to transform cancer outcomes for everyone, and we want to be a part of that.”
Tony Colville, CEO of Cancer Awareness Trust, comments: “I am so happy to have Barbara and Terry join us at Cancer Awareness Trust as Founding Patrons. The dynamic husband-and-wife duo brings a wealth of valuable experience as entrepreneurs and a commercial mindset, which truly helps us as we develop our sustainability and growth strategy as a tech start-up, governed as a charity. Welcome aboard!”
