The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust

The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust is dedicated to supporting those most in need in and around Weston-super-Mare.

Established in 2003 following a one-off memorial event honouring local hotelier and businessman Axentis Michael, the inaugural event raised an astonishing £150,000 in a single night, an outpouring of generosity that led to the founding of the Trust.

Run by the Michael family, the Trust has since raised and donated over £2 million to vital causes, with its flagship bi-annual Memorial Ball at the heart of its fundraising efforts.

The Trust carefully selects meaningful causes and individuals to support. Beneficiaries have included Weston Hospicecare, the Children’s Ward at Weston Hospital, and numerous local families and children living with life-limiting conditions requiring treatment not available through the NHS.

Among the many organisations supported, Cancer Awareness Trust has proudly benefited from the generosity of the Memorial Ball. The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust actively supports CAT’s fundraising efforts to launch Cancer Platform and transform access to expert, trusted cancer information and support at every step of the cancer journey.
